Bio

Chief May Egbunike Agbakoba is the founder and director of the ‘Queen of Ndida Land Charity Foundation’ and the ‘Onitsha Ado Global Institute’. She is the eldest of nine children born to Prince Akunnia Ugonabo Gregory Henry Igweze Egbunike and Omekaenyi Dimfulumnanya Dolly Ekwunuife Egbunike (NEE OSAKA), both from the Egbunike Royal Dynasty of the Royal Clan of Ogbendida Village, Umuezcaroli traditional kingdom of Onitsha.
Her father was educated at Denise Memorial Grammar School, Onitsh, and rose to the top rank as a Senior Chief Executive Investigation Officer of the Nigerian Post & Tele-communication service in Lagos, Nigeria. While her mother was well educated at Saint Monica's College, Ogbunike, Anambra State, Nigeria. Her mother was the daughter of a prominent, wealthy businessman from Onitsha, who for decades was involved in travelling and exporting African commodities and Gold to the West and also importing African textile materials into Nigeria from India, Manchester, Holland, and London, England.

Education

After the Civil War, Chief May travelled to Austria and studied German at the University of Vienna, She later transitioned to Switzerland and finally relocated to the United Kingdom, where she trained as a Secretary and worked for the Nigerian High Commission, Education Department. After about five years serving in this capacity, she was offered a position to serve at a UK Local Authority in a range of departments from Health & Safety, Human Resources and Fostering. She was able to further her studies simultaneously to train for Public Administration, Counselling Studies and Home Management. Chief May became interested and embarked on an International Peace Studies postgraduate qualification at University of Bradford and graduated with MA/Peace Studies. In addition to this qualification she has obtained specialist qualifications Teaching PGCE PECT in Special Education from the University of Greenwich and Learning Disability Nursing/Social Work at the University of Hertfordshire. Chief May is life-long learner focused on continuous professional and personal development.
